BT Email Service Fully Operational Following Recent Outage Resolution
According to reports, an issue affecting thousands of BT customers’ email services on Saturday morning has now been resolved.
The outage began at 05:00 GMT and was tracked by Downdetector, which received over 5,000 complaints from affected customers. However, in a statement released shortly after noon on the same day, BT confirmed that the problem had been fixed and apologized to those impacted.
It is worth noting that other services provided by BT such as broadband, TV packages, and mobile plans were not affected by this outage.
The issue appeared across the country with customers from Aberdeenshire in Scotland to Wakefield in England reporting problems on social media. Initially, BT suggested switching off wi-fi and using mobile data as a workaround for those impacted until the email service was restored.
One user posted “Email is not working. What’s the problem? When will it be fixed?” tagging BT on X (formerly Twitter). Another customer reported difficulties logging into their BT Email account with a message saying ‘BT Server Outage, Try again later.’
However, some customers were able to access their emails after switching from wi-fi to mobile data.
This incident highlights the importance of having reliable internet services in today’s digital age. Customers depend on email for communication and staying connected with friends and colleagues.
