Jack Draper has withdrawn from the Dubai Tennis Championships to manage his workload. The British tennis player, aged 23, announced he will skip this tournament following a disappointing loss in three sets against Andrey Rublev at the Qatar Open final held in Doha on Sunday. Despite this setback, Draper remains optimistic and is scheduled to compete in upcoming tournaments like the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open next month.

Draper shared his decision via X: “Unfortunately, I have made the decision to withdraw from Dubai Duty Free.” In an explanatory statement he added, “After a great week at Qatar Open Tennis, I’m taking on board advice to prioritize my recovery and manage my body after several long matches. This will give me the best chance of competing consistently throughout the year.”

However, Draper’s absence from Dubai has left him feeling regretful: “I’m gutted not to compete at such an amazing event but look forward to returning to competition at BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open.” The British tennis star is currently ranked number one in his country and will soon rise to 12th in the world rankings.

In related news, Britain’s fifth-ranked player, Dan Evans, has secured a wildcard entry into the singles competition. He faces off against Karen Khachanov in Mondays first round of matches.
