Published about nine hours ago, it was announced that the National Football League (NFL) will be returning to Brazil for the opening week of their 2025 season. This time, its set to happen in S?o Paulo with a home team from Los Angeles, specifically the Chargers. The game is scheduled for September 5th at Corinthians Arena and an opponent has yet to be confirmed. It was only last year when another NFL match took place in South America; back then on September 14th of 2023, it was played between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers.

“After a successful and unforgettable first game in Brazil during our 2024 season, we are delighted to confirm that the league will be returning to S?o Paulo. The Los Angeles Chargers will host this exciting event which marks an incredible next chapter for us in South America,” said Luis Martinez, NFL Brazils General Manager.

The National Football League is permitted to schedule up to eight regular-season games internationally each year, and theyve already outlined plans for three events in London, as well as one game each in Berlin, Madrid, and Dublin. Besides this new fixture coming up next September 5th at Corinthians Arena (which was also the venue when both footballs 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Olympics Games took place), it’s worth noting that theyve already announced their first-ever regular-season match to be held in Australia for the year 2026.
